Home Assistant

The integration adds your stove to Home Assistant as a thermostat, with its fans, switches, sensors and diagnostics. It talks to the bridge on your network: no cloud.

Using another home automation system (Jeedom, openHAB, Node-RED, Domoticz...)? See MQTT. If you would rather not install an integration, the bridge can also announce the stove to Home Assistant through MQTT discovery, with fewer features.

Before you start

Install with HACS

  1. In HACS, open Integrations, then the menu at the top right, then Custom repositories.

  2. Add https://github.com/openfirenet/open-firenet-ha with the category Integration.

  3. Search for Open Firenet and click Download.

  4. Restart Home Assistant.

Without HACS: copy the folder custom_components/open_firenet/ from the repository into your Home Assistant config/custom_components/ folder and restart.

Add your stove

  1. Go to Settings, Devices & services, Add integration.

  2. Search for Open Firenet.

  3. Enter the address of the bridge (open-firenet.local or its IP address) and the refresh interval (30 seconds by default).

What you get

TypeEntities
ThermostatOn/off, target temperature (14 to 28 °C), mode (manual, auto, comfort), heating power (30 to 100 %)
FansMultiAir 1 and 2: on/off, auto or speeds 1 to 5, convection trim (MultiAir stoves only)
SwitchesWeekly heating schedule, frost protection
NumbersSetback temperature, frost protection temperature, room sensor calibration, baking oven temperature (DOMO BACK)
SensorsRoom, combustion chamber and mainboard temperatures, pellets consumed, running hours, service countdown, fan and auger speeds, stove state, Wi-Fi signal, air flaps
DiagnosticsLink with the stove, combustion active, stove error, hopper lid, error and warning codes

Stove without a RIKA room sensor

If your stove has no room sensor, its room temperature is unknown. You can show the temperature of any Home Assistant sensor on the thermostat instead: open the integration's Configure dialog and pick the sensor.

This only changes what the thermostat displays. The stove keeps regulating with its own sensor. To switch the stove on and off from another sensor, use Home Assistant's Generic Thermostat or an automation.

Problems

If the entities are unavailable, first check that http://open-firenet.local opens in your browser and shows the stove as connected. Then see Troubleshooting, or open an issue on the integration's repository.
